The Wissler Family
Story
The Wissler Family formed when Matt Wissler (mandolin, lead
guitar) and Linda May Wacker (vocals, tambourine) began a series of impromptu
concerts in the Wacker living room comprised exclusively of Stevie Nicks covers.
From such auspicious beginnings, The Wisslers grew to include members Tim Woods
(rhythm guitar) and Tom Mayer (bass) as the band primarily maintained a
repertoire of non-traditional acoustic folk songs culminating in the
WhiteApple Recordings.
Since then, the band has evolved significantly while staying true to the days of
scribbling lyrics on shoe boxes. With the addition of members Lawrence Lupkin
(pedal steel and harmonica) and Jesse Bull (drums), The Wisslers have succeeded
at crafting an original sound that encompasses the many facets of American
Music. Citing influences from such artists as The Louvin Brothers to Eddie
Money, the new
self-titled album
fully demonstrates the range and versatility of the band. From the bluegrass
influenced country-pop originals to the sincere, unique covers, The Wissler
Family defines True American Music.
